don't know where to put this topic but I think this is a good referece not only for beginners but as well as those who are already 'addicted' to photography. Smile

When I was starting, the first few things I tried to learn were proper composition & exposure. Everything starts from here! Even you don't have good PP skills nor any filters, if your shot has a good composition & with proper exposure, it will definitely look good.

For proper composition:
http://www.colorpilot.com/comp_rules.html
http://digital-photography-school.com/5-elements-of-composition-in-photography

however, as they always say, you have to know the rules so you would know how to break them!

For proper exposure:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/columns/determining-exposure.shtml
http://www.great-photography-tutorials.com/light-meter.html

try to check info about light metering (spot, matrix, center-weighted)
